The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary is to
glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders
for the proclamation of His Word and the
building up of the body of Christ worldwide.
I am currently the lead pastor of Foothill Church—a revitalization of a seventy-year-old church in Glendora, CA.
Some of my fondest memories at DTS were simple joys of sitting at Mitchell with friends and faculty members and talking theology and life. I wish I had more of those times today. I can remember dozens of hours spent with Prof. Bill Lawrence and Howard Hendricks. They were amazing professors, but treated me as a friend.
Other than a few Bible classes in college, I had no real biblical education when I came to DTS. I was one of the older students when I arrived (32) and made it my goal to learn all I could about preaching the Bible. I wasn’t disappointed. DTS gave me a grasp of the Bible that has allowed me to preach and teach with authority. Jeffrey Bingham gave me a love for history, doctrine, theology, and the Trinity! Dorian Coover-Cox and Gordon Johnston gave me a love for Hebrew. Bill Lawrence challenged me to chase after character more than competence. And Timothy Warren showed me how to bring it all together in the “moment of truth.” I thank God for DTS.
