Thanks for taking some time to check out DTS. I know that it is a huge decision that you are in the process of making. I remember when I began thinking about attending seminary. Being from New York, I had a few misconceptions about what Dallas was like. All I could imagine was tumbleweeds and cowboy boots. The cowboy boots are real but they have cleaned up the tumbleweeds. Whatever your preconceptions about seminary, I encourage you to prayerfully consider whether Dallas Seminary is part of the Lord’s will for your life.

My experience at DTS has been incredible. I have just finished my fourth year in the Th.M. degree with a concentration in Pastoral Ministries. I have been consistently challenged both academically and personally. During my time here I have seen my passion for the Pastorate grow as well as my theological and biblical knowledge become sharpened. Knowledge is not the only thing I have acquired here. I also met my wife Radha, who just graduated with her MABC degree. We are now expecting our first child! That’s worth the price of tuition right there! We hope to eventually move either to the Northwest or Northeast and pastor a church. Nothing seems more appealing to me than living in community with people, growing in our love for the Triune God, and learning to worship Him with every aspect of our being.

So, keep pursuing the Lord’s call in your life. He will lead you to some incredible places. I never would have imagined myself in Texas and earning a degree from seminary. I certainly never imagined leaving Texas with a wife, child, and degree. Who knows what His plans are for you?

What are your hobbies or outside interests?
Skiing. Everyday I thank God for snow, mountains, and gravity (although I wish he placed those things in Dallas). I love to read, listen to music, watch movies, and spend time with friends.

What made you decide to go to DTS?
I knew that I needed more training and theological focus. My pastor was a DTS graduate.

What do you do on your day off?
Drink some coffee, read my bible, and let whatever happens happen.

What are your favorite foods?
Without a doubt chicken wings are my favorite food. I would eat them every meal of the day, every day of the week, every week of my life. Unfortunately, my wife tells me I would get a heart attack and die so I don’t. So for variety I also love Thai food, steak, and anything I can put Frank’s Red Hot sauce on.

What is your favorite television show of all time?
Seinfeld. I taped 130 out of 180 episodes off TV and edited out the commercials. Then they released the DVDs. Man, I wasted a lot of time.

What is the best part about working in the DTS admissions office?
We have a fun team. It’s also great to play a small part in the way that God is working in people’s lives.

What is your favorite piece of literature?
Other than the Bible, Brothers Karamazov.

What is your favorite quote?
“I feel uncomfortable handing out bologna sandwiches in the building” -Seinfeld

What is your favorite musical artist/group/genre of music?
Indie Rock. I love Sufjan Stevens, Arcade Fire, Wilco, and a bunch of others. I love music.

What was your major in college?
Exercise Science

Who is the person you admire most and why?
My Dad. He is an incredible man who always loved us, provided for us, and encouraged us (he still does). He also built a Jeep CJ-7 with me. It was sweet.

Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
I love the disciple John. His writing comes across as extremely pastoral. I hope that I can have the theological depth and love of people that his writing reveals.

If you could have superhero powers, what would they be?
Flight.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Colorado, Utah, or Lake Tahoe. The skiing is great.
