Over my years at DTS, first as a student and now as a staff member, I've been blown away by the "do it all with excellence" attitude that we all share. I graduated from DTS in 2004 with the ThM and all I can say is, "Wow." The trustworthy training I received from Dallas Theological Seminary revolutionized my life. And now with our growing presence at DTS-DC in Manassas, VA, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been! I’ve seen the Lord’s hand move in supernatural ways. He is doing something very special here in D.C., and I’d love for you to experience it, too!

I’d love to have you as our guest at a Day at DTS event, or any other day of the year we’re open! You’ll never regret it. Get in touch so I can help!

What are your hobbies or outside interests?
I love to walk my dog, listen to music, and study theology. I’m also a shutterbug.

What made you decide to go to DTS?
How much time do you have? Of course the alumni and faculty were key, but even more was the curriculum. When you stack a DTS degree up against any other, there’s simply no comparison—DTS has more bible, theology, and ministry courses, as well as character development, than any others I’ve seen. All 66 books. Just sayin’.

What do you do on your day off?
Spend time with my sweetheart, Eva, and learn about the wisdom of God by studying his creation. This may involve Scripture, music, film, fellowship, nature…or all of the above.

What are your favorite foods?
Fruit, grilled veggies, homemade tortillas, and dark chocolate.

What is your favorite television show of all time?
Cheers, Frasier, LOST, Everybody Loves Raymond.

What is the best part about working in the DTS admissions office?
Coming to work is like coming home.

What is your favorite piece of literature?
Currently, Gilead by Marilynne Robinson.

What is your favorite quote?
"...blessings not just for the ones who kneel...luckily." - Bono

What is your favorite musical artist/group/genre of music?
An impossible question! I like The Arcade Fire, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Blind Melon, Calexico, Charlie Hall, Coldplay, DMB, Death Cab, Depeche Mode, The Doors, Duran Duran, Fleet Foxes, Jimi, Zeppelin, Metallica, The Music, The Oh Hellos, Over the Rhine, Pink Floyd, The Police, Poor Old Lu, Project 86, Radiohead, RATM, Simon & Garfunkel, Soundgarden, U2, The Who.

Who is the person you admire most and why?
Scott Horrell. He’s the Scripture’s picture of the “pastor-teacher.”
Greg Hatteberg, Dean of Enrollment and Alumni Services. Because of him, I know what it looks like to be a man of God.

Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
Phineas. That dude had a passion for the truth, and the Lord honored him for it.

If you could have superhero powers, what would they be?
If I believed in reincarnation (and I don’t), I would want to come back as a bird.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
St. John, USVI, or Lake City, CO.
