Brian L. Bain
Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Missiology and Intercultural Ministries
Dr. Bain has spent much of his career in international non-profit work in South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, and China. He works to empower national leaders to bring about various types of personal and community transformation around the life and teachings of Jesus. One of the great privileges of his life has been to serve alongside South Sudanese and Ugandan friends at the North East Africa Theological Seminary (NEATS) in South Sudan. His experiences have led him to have a deep passion for teaching methodology and a special focus on “the gap” that exists for all of us between our stated beliefs and the lives we live. Combined, these lead to a unique classroom experience with a core teaching focus integrating Bible, theology, mission, and counseling teachings and practices. He is also passionate about investing and entrepreneurship as opportunities to fund God-honoring activities and services. One of God’s greatest acts of grace in his life is the gift of his wife Hailey and their children with whom he likes to spend as much time as possible doing just about anything.
